Couldn't sleep. Nothing new there. The oddity was that I even tried. It was only 10:30.
Around 11:30 I'm up, I'm on CraigsList looking for free shit, because in a new, bigger apartment you're going to need shit, and I, for one, am all about getting shit for free.
I happen across a posting which had gone up not an hour prior, listing an ironing board and a cat tower, which would be on the sidewalk, three blocks from my pad.
Shit, the cats need something like that, and The Dr.'s ironing board stands, no shit, two inches off the ground. Do you have the first idea what working with a mini ironing board, two inches off the ground does to a 6'1" guy with bad knees & chronic back pain?
So I hoof it down there, and it's brilliant; the ironing board, while having a butt-ugly cover, is in really good shape, and the cat tower is just right. I grab them up, and head back up the hill.
When I get home I'm feeling really good about this. This was exactly what I needed & I wanted to express my gratitude, but there was no contact info on the posting, and 12:45 at night is not, as near as I can figure, a particularly convenient time to knock on someone's door to thank them for the crap they're thowing away.
I figured the best I could do is put a reply post on CraigsList, and promptly did as such.
I was feeling good.
My post wasn't up for a full minute before it was flagged & removed.

I understand that thanking a person does not qualify as an ad for free merchandise, but what kind of petty cunt flags a posting that is only there to thank someone, and explain how much these items meant in our new home?
