More of the same.
Just keep asking the questions about the meaning & purpose, and keep wrestling the new questions birthed by the first.
Some periods are just packed with more conflicting -and conflict producing- information than one knows what to do with.
Sure, we're still looking at the facts of my last entry, with the John Woo contest, and the comic, and all that (please buy the comic... thank you). There are many cool things about the John Woo contest, but on my end (as I am not a member of the production team, so if it wins, I don't get the $25,000 prize) the really groovy bit is that the winning ideo will be seen on Spike TV. I want to be seen on Spike TV. That would make Comic Con even more fun.
Speaking of Comic Con, when I went to San Jose to shoot the film I was staying with my grandfolks. All of my convention mail is addressed to their house, and upon arrival I found the latest Con Update waiting for me. I opened it up, and there was my name, in with Rick Geary, Bernie Wrightson, and other legends of the field, in the Attending Professionals announcement.
Life felt so beautiful at that moment.
But along with all of that I had a few lumps thrown my way.
Not anything I want to get into. This whole Airing Dirty Laundry In Your Blog thing was a phase I passed through with a decided lack of decorum, and it got real old, and real embarrassing. Done with that shit (until my next moment of weakness).
So yeah, it's been a long life; taking the beatings -physical & emotional- & fixing the gaze on a blurred horizon.
Keep coming back to something Luvabeans said to me once, when describing a play; "Most of it was hallucination. the rest didn't make any sense."
Girl's deep just as a matter of course.
Buto work still goes on the graphic novel, and I now present you, for the very first time, with a sample page from the book:
Back to work for me now. More drawing to be done, and dinner to be made, and a shower to be taken, then off to see three episodes of Buffy at the Parkway Theatre.
Thst is all. Stay evil, kids.
