Emcee Square #7 is now up... finally.
I know, it's been a long time coming, and now that it's here it's something coming from further out of left-field than usual.
It is, as it says across the bottom, dedicated to the memory of Bob Thaves, creator of the comic strip Frank & Ernest. So, for those unfamiliar with his work, I'll explain.
Bob Thaves died on August 1st.
I've been a fan of Frank & Ernest since I was a wee lad. It was all about word-play, and good fun, and, just when you didn't expect it, a political jab, or two.
It's not the deepest strip you'll ever read. It's not part of some grand paradigm shift for the medium, it's just clever humour, & there are times, in the age of deconstructionist fairy-tales, that this simplicity seems the deepest of all possible things.
All respect to the family & friends of Mr. Thaves.
Thank you.
