Don't stop me if you've heard this one.
I know that this is a deeply unpopular thing to say, but I can't be made to give a shit: Burning Man is a steaming load of overblown, irrelevant, self-important, self-involved, insidiously commercial, culture thieving bullshit. And some guy, who has been touring a one-man show -in which he plays Hunter Thompson- burned "the Man" four days ahead of schedule, while all the drugged out losers were staring at the lunar eclipse (which I am actually jealous of, because I couldn't see it from here). They went apeshit. The festival organizers had him arrested for Arson.
The organizers of an American festival -which is based on a British festival, which is itself based on a Movie about a semi-fictitious Pagan festival, wherein a giant effigy is burned to cleanse man & appease the gods- are all pissed off about some cat coming in and trying to properly cleanse it. Pissed to the effect of having him arrested on felony charges. Do none of them get it?
